The Land of Fire's name comes form the village it harbors, Konohagakure, and gets its name from their 'Will of Fire'. The land is actually heavily wooded and contains a variety of plant and fauna life only exceeded by the contents of the Land of Grass. The terrain is mostly flat with a small number of mountain chains existing within such as Mount Myoboku, however every inch of the land is dotted with giant trees like those found within The Forest of Death.

This empty land harbors the name of it's ever present element, the wind that grinds the very land into the sandy desert. While most settlements in this land are along the eastern coast for the sake of water and trade, the villages within the desert receive an untold amount of protection from a variety of sources; the beating sun, dangerous creatures, and the confusing state of the mirages.

Molded by the gods, the Land of Thunder's geography is perhaps the second most drastic in the world, said to be formed by the rage of the gods in the forms of quakes, bolts, and storms consistently destroying and carving the land into the rigid jagged state that it currently exists in. While roads exist within this temperamental land, few are actually passable after the passage of time.

An area birthed in the tropics and wreathed in thick mist, the islands that comprise the Land of Water are a vacationer's dream on a good day though man's hell on a bad one. The sea is a fickle mistress and will just as soon give you a Hurricane or a pleasant breeze. The water ways surrounding many of the islands make it perilous for those who do not know how to navigate their way to the main land will suffer at the hands of current and mist.

A rocky but rather populated area, the Land of Earth plays host to many as rich and convenient hub for those looking for ore and stone giving the land a great amount of income from natural resources though traveling between settlements in this land is tedious it is often richly rewarded for all involved in the exhausting trek.

Strangely named on a whim, the Land of Heaven was given its name from a poetic stand point referring to it's ever-clear sky that no matter what weather befalls the region, even rain or snow, the sky remains clear showing the heavens above. While there has never been any discovery why the weather acts as it does over the wood laden land.

Weather related abilities are unseen in this land, such as the thunderclouds of Kirin.

While the land itself is incredibly fertile, only flora that can withstand the torrential downpour of the Great Storm thrive in the Land of Rain. This same concept applies to fauna as well leaving most of the creatures in the land of reptilian or aquatic descent as the land is consistently flooded and resembles swamp land and cliffs.

As it sounds, the Land of Snow is a dangerous foreboding tundra of ice, snow, and storm. The land is covered in life-ending crevasses waiting to swallow some poor soul that loses their way in the barren white world. While there is little to nothing within the Land of Snow that also acts as a form of defense for the shinobi village within it leaving invaders with massive stretches of land that they must cover in any attempt to invade Yukigakure.

The Land of Iron is an icy, snow-covered country. It is politically unusual in that it has remained neutral and never been involved in the ninja wars. In fact, the shinobi have a rule since long ago that they would not meddle with the land. Despite this, it is said to have an incredibly strong military which is manned by samurai, instead of ninja

The Land of Grass is rich with forests, some consisting of giant mushrooms or bamboo making life and death the difference between the right road and the left. While many aspects of this land is treasured for it's herbal wealth it also serves to deter anyone from venturing within it and ending the lives of those foolish enough to try and ignore Mother Nature.
