In the case of the Kuro-Shiro, they have a unique hold over Mokuton (Wood). Able to create dense forestry and control the element of nature around them in general, they thrive where flora does.

In terms of appearance, the Kuro-Shiro are rather unique, with their most astounding visual 'deformity' coming in the form of a venus fly trap, a part of their body which spreads out around their torso, up around their bodies and up to their shoulders, and even over their heads. Their hair tends to be any shade of green, well as small bodily features. However, that isn't all there is to know about this plant family.

Their name comes from the two sets of color that represents the "humanoid" part of themselves - black and white. Though historians have argued this is much like the Soushi and their brotherhood bond, the Kuro-Shiro actually don't have a second entity living within them, their two sides instead representing two aspects of the plant people's personality - the light, and the dark. The good, and the bad. Different meanings attach to different clan members, but the bottom is that the black and white is ying yang.

Just like nature, balance is important. Without balance, there is nothing.

MASTERY

[/b][/u]: The Kuro-Shiro's genetic makeup is potentially their greatest strength, providing them with the ability to manipulate Mokuton but also giving them plant-like attributes. Their cells are surrounded by a thick wall primarily made of cellulose, which in normal plants allows them to stay upright. However, through the process of evolutionary adaptation they have developed alternative uses for the "skin" given to their humanoid body by the collective cells. Kuro-Shiro can withstand a large amount of blunt force trauma (such as standard punches and kicks), unless the attack has been increased in power in some way.


-Tier Two - Regrowth: Should a plant lose a leaf or a stem, they have the miraculous ability to regrow the missing piece as if it was never gone. In this case, the Kuro-Shiro has adapted a method to deal with the loss of either its Black or White half should they be killed while under the influence of the Body-Splitting Technique.

The Kuro-Shiro merges with a naturally-formed tree and focuses their chakra for five turns. The plant matter of the tree starts to take on the properties of that chakra, sucking away 1 High worth of their energy reserves. On the sixth turn, the affected cells merge with the Kuro-Shiro's body, effectively regenerating their missing side. The full reserves of their chakra are returned to them (the half that would have been lost with either Black or White), but in return the tree withers and dies. This skill can only be used once during the Kuro-Shiro's lifespan, and cannot be performed during combat.


-Tier Three - Cellular Respiration: Another attribute granted to the Kuro-Shiro is their total immunity to poison. Should they be exposed to any type of poison their body naturally sequesters the foreign substance into a special sac located in the abdominal cavity. Enzymes will break down this poison and remove it as waste from the body in a matter of 20 posts from the time of exposure. However, if before this time they exert a Low amount of chakra they are capable of moving the poison through a tube that connects the sac and their throat. With two handseals, the poison (regardless of its original form) will be turned into a mist that the Kuro-Shiro can exhale at their opponent. The mist can be expelled up to 5 meters away and hangs in a 2 meter wide cloud for a duration of 1 turn.

Should the opponent breathe any of it in, they will find themselves afflicted with the same strength poison that was used on the Kuro-Shiro, with all the same effects. Note however that if the Kuro-Shiro has been attacked with more than one type of poison, the effects do not stack; the strongest poison's effect will take precedence over the others.

If the process is interrupted before it’s completed, the degree of how much was healed shall be broken up into 33% increments (anything below 33% is considered not to have happened).

[/b] The split takes one entire post to complete. Likewise, this technique divides the user’s chakra equally. The two resulting halves are able to use any jutsu that the user knows, independently of each other.

The only way for the two halves to rejoin is to physically touch each other. Upon doing this, all of the separate memories and knowledge gained during their split, and the remaining chakra, become one. It should be noted that if either side of the body dies while split, the chakra (and body, for that matter) is gone forever. The maximum range these bodies may be apart is equivalent to an entire country.

[/b] Direct physical contact by the White half of the Kuro-Shiro is required to plant the spores. The spores are virtually undetectable by standard shinobi sensory techniques because they do not contain chakra. To activate the spores, White must be in the same thread as the host.

These spores cannot be activated immediately; they need five turns after being planted to establish a position on the host’s body. If the Kuro-Shiro does not activate the spores by the time the host has posted 30 times – starting with the post after the time they are planted – the spores will die.
