While the aim behind Naruto Roleplay Rebirth is to provide an environment of role-play that can cater to many different types of players, eventually, some will find themselves either ahead or behind the curb. In order to help keep all interest and unaffected by the fluctuation in skill, a Difficulty Setting has been implemented.
Essentially, upon registering your character, you shall choose which Difficulty Setting you think best suits you after reviewing what each one brings you. Each choice carries certain benefits, and keeps the gaming experience as close to the promised setting as possible. Though Difficulty is chosen at registration, a player may raise or lower their setting whenever they wish (although this cannot be done while in an active combat thread).
Below are the settings. Please keep in mind that anyone of any rank or difficulty can become a Kage due to the voting process, but upon doing so, you will become automatically Death Enabled for the entirety of your stay in office, regardless of difficulty!
The most basic of settings, this is for players either new to Role-Play or for those simply wishing to enjoy passive posting. Low in intensity, the character is never put in Death Enabled situations. And even when present within a Death Enabled thread, they are immune to Death. Sounds easy? Well, it's supposed to be.
This does not mean they can hide away in a single thread; simply put, they are not exposed to danger as others would. Consequently, because of this, players will be ineligible to participate in the higher-leveled events and site-plots. Players choosing this setting must remain as Genin, and cannot ever enter, engage in, or commence Death-Enabled combat at all.
NORMAL/ INTERMEDIATE
A bit more advanced though not impossibly hard, this difficulty setting is for more seasoned role-players, as well as those with some experience in the Naruto wold. Medium in intensity, Death Enabled situations will appear more often, in what would be referred to as 'Select Death-Enablement'.
This means that while you aren't always Death Enabled, if the user does anything to incite conflict, such as attack first or respond to a threat with equal force, they automatically become DE. Even if they are injured fatally, until they forfeit their protection, the most damage their characters can suffer is falling unconscious. DE threads are usually designated so at the beginning of the first post. Players choosing this setting can reach a maximum rank of Chuunin.
HARD / ADVANCED
The name says it all. Reserved for those with a no-holds barred RP mentality, only the most seasoned role-players should choose this setting due to its demand. High in intensity, Death Enabled situations will appear at all times. That's right - under this difficulty, the PC will be Death Enabled at all times. Players choosing this setting can reach a maximum rank of Jounin, and will be able to unlock and pursue all in game perks, including Kinjutsu, Relics, Bijuu, and more![/ul][/font]
