Shikigami- Paper Angels

The secret clan of the Shikigami lie in their advanced ninjutsu, as well as their unique ability to combine with with traditional origami in order to created deadly, paper-based techniques. The clan began as a basic band of entertainers, using their secret techniques in order to manipulate paper origami and animate it. They would do so in towns and villages, earning what little money they could. It wasn't until the advent of the shinobi world and the thirst of the clan's new generation that their skills would be turned into deadly battle tactics.

Able to manipulate paper to their liking, to the point they can turn their entire body and clothing into thousands of sheets of paper, Shikigami members are indeed valuable assets and worthy threats in battle. To travel long distances, clan members are known to fold their small papers into butterflies or planes for powered flight, and to attack, they harden the sheets and fold them into arrows, shuriken, and other deadly projectiles.

On top of this, Shikigami members can restrain opponents by blanketing them in sheets, thus restricting their movement and asphyxiating them. Befitting and likely inspiring the clan moniker of 'Paper Angels', the papers can also form large wings for further weaponry or simply improved flight and movement. Despite being made of paper, most elemental jutsu have a hard time damaging the paper due to the special chakra that is imbued within them. The power of the paper attacks could even overpower a fire attack, though it is susceptible to oil-based attacks, which stick to clan member and can keep their paper from unfolding. It is important to note that they are not as hampered to the same extent by water.

Clan members have been shown to be able to produce and fold enough paper to mimic environmental surroundings, allowing the Shikigami and those of their choosing to hide in places one normally wouldn't be able to. In the end, the clan member's paper creations are directly dependent on their creator's chakra to maintain, and as such, serve as a reflection of their master's current strength. As such, when their chakra levels drop and dwindle, the flowers lose their form and fall apart.

MASTERY

[/b][/u]: Being able to manipulate the countless folds of paper their bodies are capable of reverting into, Shikigami possess an adept level of chakra control. Through greater means of focus and refinement of their technique(s), Shikigami that have mastered their art to this degree have reduced the cost (to cast and sustain) of their kekkei genkai specific jutsu by a single tier.


-Tier Two - Literature Abroad: Though the range of their techniques is rather impressive, there are those of the Shikigami kekkei genkai that have learned to increase these numbers by a substantial amount. With this mastery, the user has learned to remove the handseals and cost of their Paper Angel Wings technique. Furthermore, they have learned to double the count of Paper Shuriken cast per increment of Chakra.


-Tier Three - Elementary Literature: Like most people of their nature (being able to transform their body), there are two primary elements (and their sub elements) which pose the greatest risk to a Shikigami's existence; these are suiton and katon. Shikigami of this level have learned to increase their resistance to these two elements, eliminating the additional damage (the critical effect) one would suffer from being struck by this. However, these elements still greatly effect the user's ability transition from one form to the next.

[/b] The user may convert their entire body into paper a maximum of five times per thread. However, the user may convert one appendage (and arm, leg, head, or the torso; converting two limbs at the same time will count as two separate usages) into paper a total of ten times per thread. Due to being able to transform themselves into paper at any point in time, all Shikigami are nearly impervious to non-elemental physical strikes, but are extremely susceptible to Suiton and Katon. Any and all Katon does a critical amount of damage on Shikigami, and when hit with the element they are unable to disperse and shift properly, even potentially lighting up in flames. Likewise, any and all Suiton reacts cohesively with the paper-infused chakra of the Shikigami body, thoroughly sticking the area the jutsu comes in contact with. It should be noted that Shikigami are not made of paper, but instead simply possess a genetic disorder which allows them to revert their entire bodies into such. When knocked unconscious or extremely exhausted and\or low on chakra, the user will revert to an immobile mound of paper.

[/b] This technique allows the Shikigami to create explosive notes at their will, up to three per post. Likewise, they can also convert a single Pepa Shuriken no Jutsu cast (all of the shuriken associated with the single cast) into explosive rounds. These abilities cannot be used at the same time (you either make notes or turn the shuriken into explosive shuriken). Furthermore, the cost of converting the paper shuriken stacks with the cost of making the shuriken.

[/b] The user cannot perform any other technique while this one is active; furthermore, the user must hold the final seal. If a sheet of paper strikes a solid surface, then that piece of paper loses its potency and cannot be reanimated by the user unless he or she performs the technique once more.

[/b] The user can control and see through the eyes of up to a maximum of five butterflies. The butterflies may only travel one country away, and cannot attack. Only when the remaining butterflies coalesce can the user return to normal form. When a butterfly is destroyed, the user does not take any damage, but loses all memory the butterfly might have had.

Lasts only a single turn and requires a 1 turn cooldown.

[/b] The paper towl can absorb up to 5 Suiton jutsu of B rank or below. It will remain until the user cannot sustain the chakra upkeep anymore, or will disappear once it has reached the limit that it can soak up. Lightning and Fire techniques of any rank will destroy it immediately.

[/b] No seals are needed to apply the armor, but it still takes a single full turn for it to cover the user. Kami Yoroi can withstand attacks of A rank and below, and will withstand a single S rank attack before breaking. However, Fire and Water techniques of any rank can break through the barrier, damaging the user. If they have the Tier 3 mastery, then Fire and Water techniques of C rank and above can break the armor and injure the user.

Shikigami no Mai (Dance of the Paper God)

[/b] This allows the user to fully control the hundreds of sheets of paper defining their being while dispersed. By employing this technique, the user can disperse their body into a cloud of hundreds of sheets of paper, which they can then direct to any location they wish (up to thirty meters away). Any damage received by these sheets of paper is reduced completely, giving the user a "perfect escape." This technique can only be used once per thread.
