Hi-o-Ekō, literally meaning Echoing Flame, doesn't even exist within the our realm of reality. Found along the borders of The Land of Fire is a single path the cuts through forests, valleys, rivers, and canyons the start of this long path lays at the border between Fire and The Land of Rivers stands a stone archway carved in the shape of flames and no matter the conditions horse tracks continue from the gate 100 meters along the path before fading. To enter this realm the summoner must walk the path from the start at midday when the shadow is cast between the feet of the arch.

Once having passed between, the sun will not seem to move or reach like it does, the further the summoner walks the darker the path will grow while the light disappears. After the trek and all the light has faded flames will spring up along the ground marking the path forward, the sounds of galloping and fires crackling, the summoner will have entered the realm of Hi-o-Ekō. Made up of fire and brimstone, Obsidian spires reach toward the sky as ash wilts on the thermal currents.

[/b]: As beings crafted from the chaos of conflict, the Nightmares serve their place best in the middle of conflict with their rider. This is evident due to the proficiency and power they give their rider during battles. As such all damage done by both the Nightmare and its rider will be stronger by 2 ranks.

Description: Standing at 30 meters tall and 40 meters long, Destruction is the youngest and smallest of the Nightmares as well as the younger sister of the Sage, Ruin. Under her gear she has a bright red-orange coat which will eventually turn coal black like her brothers, while her flush red mane and tail will ignite into blazing inferno. At this level in her development she doesn't possess the same power and capability as her brother either so her abilities are limited to the earth and her own power and energy.

Description: A special black riding armor and harness crafted out of a metal older then the earthly realm itself. In its nature it serves to protect the head back and flanks of the Nightmare and as well protect the summoner. Thus its main ability is to produce a shielding effect on the rider that makes them immune to the abilities of the Nightmares.

Description: The Nightmares learned to utilize this technique after being broken by their horsemen. The Nightmare will pool its energy and compress its own body down to the size of that of a normal horse, ready to ride by a summoner. This also comes with boost in speed and agility evident in the level of power a Nightmare holds; in Destruction's case she gains an additional 100% boost.

Description: Another trait shared by all nightmares but lacking in their own breeding, the ability to spawn a path which only the Nightmare may ride. This path may go anywhere; up into the sky on a road of their energy, or down into the ground leaving a pool to signal their location. While a summoner may ride the Nightmare as they traverse their path, should they fall from the beast they will suffer the consequences, be it plummeting from the sky or being eternally stuck in the very earth. Destruction creates a veil of dirt and debris.


Fury-ous Destruction
Type: Offensive.
Cost: High
Description: As the steed of Fury, Destruction has a great aptitude for, well, destruction. Her signature ability is based off her older brother's, Ruin. First by building up a sizable amount of energy within her hooves it will cause the appearance of orange red cracks running up her hooves and legs. Then she will leap and slam down her hooves exerting the energy and sending out a blast wave made of 3 meter long shards of stone and searing hot energy capable of searing off bark and clothing. The wave is capable of traveling 60 meter and will grow up to 30 meters wide.

Description: As the third Nightmare in the family, Conquest is kind of like the middle child due to Despair's personality. He doesn't decide where to go on his own and simply flows with the world, rather laid back for a runner of the apocalypse. More often then not he is the one of the Nightmares who prefers to avoid conflict rather then rush in guns blazing, as opposed to his rider who does just that. Standing at 40 meters tall and 50 meters long, Conquest is covered in a coat of shimmering white hair almost transparent like water and ice, and with pale blue eyes to match, while the gear that coats his body is clear.

Conquest creates a shimmering strip of water and ice.


Strife's Conquest
Type: Offensive
Cost: Massive
Description: As each steed has its own domain, Conquest's is the cold grip of the arctic waters. He will first begin to charge the air and his front hooves with moisture and cold making cracked ice from on his hooves. Then he will slam down his frost trodden feet and force out the moisture coating and expanding everything around him up to 30 meters away, following this first surge of moisture will be a harsh cold snap that will flash freeze everything that was covered in water. This freeze will last up to 3 turns or will require an equivocal burst of chakra to break from.


Indomitable Fissure
Type: Offensive.
Cost: x2 High
Description: After channeling a severe amount of water chakra to one of his hooves, Conquest will then slam his hoof down sending a bursting jet of cold water and 2 meter long shards of ice straight at the target. The force of the jet is severe enough to rend the ground asunder along its path and travel up to 30 meters away.

Description: As the second youngest Nightmare and the first younger brother under Ruin, Despair chose to ignore the expectations and tribulations of working up to the standards Ruin set and instead chose to cut his own path and achieve his own accomplishments. With a strong and driving personality, Despair will fight valiantly through thick and thin with his rider assisting them till the better end, of his enemies that is. Standing at 50 meters tall and 70 meters long, Despair is the only one of the Nightmares to match Ruin in size and bull-headedness, though not sheer power. With no hair covering his body and excess skin and fat torn away from time and battle, despair maintains a very deathly and decayed image, almost zombie-like, while his gear is crafted from bone.

Death and Despair
Type: Offensive / Supplementary.
Cost: Massive, High upkeep
Description: Like his rider, Despair has his dominion over the realm of Death. This manifests as Despair's primary ability, as he snorts and paws the ground breathing out a sickly green looking mist and drawing up that same mist to coat his body in an aura of the ghastly veil. This mist is actually a highly potent caustic acid much like Futton, it will eat through and rot ANYTHING A-rank and lower within 10 meters of Despair.


Grasp of Sorrow
Type: Offensive
Cost: x2 High per turn active.
Description: While his primary domain is the darker side of limbo, Despair also holds great prowess with the arts of the wind. This technique allows him to forcibly extract all air from a 20 meter radius area making the area take on a faint mint green tint from the change in air composition, within this area people will be hindered for 2 turns and die on the 3rd. However due to the amount of concentration this takes, Despair may not move while this ability is active.

Note: Katon, Raiton, Suiton, and Fuuton are unusable within this area due to the state of air within, IE gone/removed.


Sheering Cries
Type: Offensive
Cost: x2 High, per volley
Description: Despair's second wind-based attack is more straight forward then simply focusing on an area. This offensive ability presents itself as four 10 meter long crescent scythe-like blades. Despair is able to control and launch these blades altogether or one at a time and with free movement around his body. The max distance these blades may go from Despair is 50 meters.

Description: Ruin, The steed of the horseman War, as the sage of the Nightmares, Ruin holds power of the clan and will battle any who oppose that right, though only his little sister ever does. Strong powerful and with the mind of an ox, he will do what he sees is right, this includes battle situations if his rider isn't competent enough to keep a level-head in the heat of the fray. Standing at 50 meters tall and 70 meters long, Ruin's coat is sheer black like coal and covers his whole body while his eyes, mane, tail, hooves, and the runic markings coverings his stout neck and flanks blaze with an ethereal bright red flame threatening to consume all it touches and turn it to ash and brimstone. The gear coating Ruin's rigid muscled body is a jet-black obsidian, stronger then steel.

Ruin creates a cloak of fire and ash.


The Horsemen Cometh
Type: Supplementary.
Cost: x2 Massives
Description: This technique is used by Ruin to meld Natural chakra with a Senjutsu practitioner. It maximizes the sage chakra for the person he is aiding and allows them to access Sage Mode for longer periods of time. By combining himself with the user, he is able to channel his sage chakra into his summoner allowing them to stay on the offensive, eliminating the weakness of the rider exhausting all of their natural energy.

NOTE This technique effectively doubles the user’s sage mode duration.


From War onto Ruin
Type: Offensive
Cost: Massive, x2 High Upkeep
Description: With Ruin's power of fire and lava he makes it apparent where his dominion is in the earthly realm. Upon this ability's activation the ground will turn black with burns as a 30 meter radius directly around Ruin begins to crack with red lines and pillars of lava erupt skyward coating the area in molten rock and fire. This area lasts indefinitely while Ruin is within it and last up to 3 turns after it is out of his range to cease the volcanic activity.


Vesuvius's Wrath
Type: Offensive
Cost: Massive, High Upkeep
Description: As a show of power and force, Ruin has the capability to call forth a raging storm of fire and ash 10 meters around him. This Firestorm will cut down the enemies sight down to 5 meters while continued exposure to the storm will cause burns. After 4 turns of being exposed to the flaming storm those within will succumb to third degree burns that cover their body as well as the burning ash they inhaled.


Naraka
Type: Offensive / Supplementary.
Cost: x3 High
Description: As a show of Ruin's true dominion over fire, he can draw in a great amount of it within his hooves making them burn a black hue. Once they are full of the fiery energy Ruin will leap and slam his hooves down sending out a giant wave of black flame in every direction immolating anything that it comes into contact with just short of Susano'o. This wall of flame is 40 meters tall and capable of traveling up to 70 meters away from the point of impact.
