[/u][/b]As the entire Village is surrounded by the massive ice wall as a means to block out the perpetual winter, naturally it serves as a barrier for foreigners. The sheer size of the wall makes scaling it extremely difficult, doubly so because of the weather buffeting the surrounding area constantly and the ice wall itself isn’t a simple, uniform design. In fact design was the least of the Yukigakure Shinobi’s concerns when they created this marvel. Assuming the person could actually climb or ascend to the wall’s apex, there is a very long drop to come… assuming the high altitude hasn’t already taken its toll on the would-be infiltrator.
This leaves the gates as really the only reliable method of entering and exiting the Village. Simple tunnels carved after a fair bit of effort and ice manipulation (due to the chakra infused nature of the wall), adorned with sturdy, chakra-ice caked metal-and-wooden doors to keep the violent weather out. Given the remote nature of the village, two entrances have been created: each on the opposite side of the village border to enable people to leave easily.
Simple, but with the environment around them, it is incredibly effective.

Citizens and Shinobi of Yukigakure may enter and leave without being stopped by the Gatekeepers/patrolling Shinobi. Foreign people and Shinobi must interact with them before entry or exits can be approved.
Thread is Death Enabled. The endless winter will serve as a burial ground for troublemakers.
