Wandering around with his new book, Kanshin flipped through a few pages and took in the information. The instructions were theory-heavy, giving vague ideas about how such-and-such should feel and how best to go about reigning control of your chakra in the various exercises. Of course, it became painfully obvious that the only way to figure out what to do in the first place was constant practice. He expected as much, but had hoped for a bit of better instruction.
So, starting off with the only exercise he knew, he took a few steps up the side of the nearby building. Gravity protested this action, like always, but he leaned forward...upward...he leaned towards his destination and pushed his legs against its call. His small frame protested against carrying the entirety of his weight, but Kanshin ignored the burning sensations and stood in place. Constant movement would be preferable, but there was only so much room he had to work with.
The buildings weren't spaced close enough to allow a simple step over gaps, and he wasn't confident in his ability to jump laterally while standing sideways. There had to be an easier solution to his dilemma of practice. It was when he gazed into the distance that the answer came to him. If his wall was too small, then he needed a bigger one, and there was no bigger wall than the ice walls that protected the village. Jumping down, he flipped to the next chapter and read on, making his way to the village border.
