A P P E A R A N C E --

Sosuke takes on the Japanese descent of his two parents, and even his Grandfather, receiving the gender and physical build of his Fathers and a close version of their voice, with the mentality, eyes, and hair color of his Mother Asuna. He appears very youthful, perhaps bulky due to his physical prowess, with a jaw like an anvil. With all that is said, he represents his Father and Grandfather the most.

He often wears red leather attire exempt the linen/silk headbands, his outfit usually studded in ebon steel and the like, unless he is seen wearing his Samurai armor, which is also red in appearance. The red theme is due to Sosuke being the second Shogun, the "Nishibi" (Mid-day Sun), named after his Father, the "Asahi" (Rising Sun), who had the affinity to Doton (Earth). Sosuke, however, is the 'Mid-day Sun', and thus was named after the sun at it's highest and hottest point, and was dubbed thus due to his inheriting his Mother's affinity to Katon (Fire).


P E R S O N A --

Sosuke is very much like his Father and Grandfather, who were exceptionally hot-headed in their youth, doing things the way they saw fit with an optimism about them. Enduring the years of their life, they matured and wisened up in due time, becoming more than renowned Samurai. Putting a lot of pressure on himself to do the same, being the new Shogun forceduly because of his Father's sudden death has made life tough, and Sosuke more rigid than ever.

His nerves are crawling, writhing even, waiting for one of the Shinobi nations to slip up, and do something they'd soon come ot regret. Sosuke feels like he is the worst yet of the Samurai of his family, knowing he does things that may later come to cripple the Land of Iron, as of recently having a stark thirst for blood, particularly that of whoever killed his Father. He didn't know if it was some lowly Shinobi, a Samurai who betrayed the Shogun and Iron for one reason another, or what the ordeal was. This ignorance led to a feeling of helplessness, which transpired into frustration eh was just waiting to vent on something he saw fit.

That isn't to say Sosuke doesn't want a civil world and society with peace, His Grandfather having lectured him endless nights when he was young about the treachery of war. Because of this, Sosuke demonstrates astounding political influence when he deems it appropriate, finding it in him or actually fooling himself somehow to believe that he and Iron are a disciplined, generous, and prosperous nation, worthy of existence in this world. This is why he is seen as two-faced, openly accepting and issuing violence with provocation, yet showing such an open-hearted and open-minded political approach.

They have an open circle in the center, used for grabbing with a finger, to avoid cutting oneself, or to put thread through. The circle is also a benefit in aerodynamics, as it ensures more accurate trajectories.

Description: Though an old fashioned training method, taijutsu specialists use these extremely heavy weights to increase their speed and movement. These weights are worn under the warmers on the user's lower legs. When removed, the user gains a great increase in their speed and mobility. The weights are marked with the kanji for "guts".

Description: A full body suit of armor created strictly for samurai based off traditional designs mixed in with modern technology. Akin to traditional ancient samurai armor, the Kanji for "Bushido" is carved in the chest plate and back, and the whole body is protected with many strong layers of plated steel. The secret use of this armor is that, although heavy, it feeds off of the Samurai's special seal, which gushes raw chakra into the armor in order to make the otherwise impossible to move heavy armor as smooth and gentle as a cloth. There's only one place an armor like this can be made – Iron. Note that since this IS armor it always makes noise, no matter how slow or quiet the wearer is.

The strikes are quick enough to believe one sees three blades slashing, not one and due to the erratic fashion of the technique, can be applied to multiple opponents or just one.

Note: This technique serves as a counter against multi-strike based techniques. A maximum of three techniques can be parried per use at an incredibly fast, almost "simultaneous" rate. It should be noted that these parries must be plausible, and simply because a user can defend relatively quick does not mean the are immune to being struck. As state, this will be widely considered as a multi-strike counter.


Ridairekuto (Redirect)

Commencing from any position, the practitioner proceeds to unsheathe their blade and quickly strike against an incoming physical attack. But, instead of simply blocking it, the user will instead use the opponents momentum against them, which in turn forces them off balance and leaves them vulnerable to a strike afterwards. While off balance, the opponent will be unable to perform actions involving high amounts of dexterity, due to the surprise of being knocked off center.

Note: Once parried, the opponent is left off balance and unable to find their footing for half a turn.


Rasen Karasu-Zuki (Spiral Parry Thrust)

Commencing from any position, the practitioner proceeds to unsheathe their blade and quickly strike down an incoming projectile, either slicing it in half or redirecting its path away from the user. Useful when faced with opponents that prefer to strike from a distance, as long as the user is able to spot the incoming threat in time. Once the user becomes more proficient at judging the distance, speed and direction of projectiles, they will be able to cut down even more projectiles in a fluid movement.

Note: Up to 15 projectiles can be parried per use.


Shoushitsuten (Vanishing Point)

One of Kenjutsu's ultimate defensive maneuvers, this technique relies on brute strength and rapid movement to evade an attack, instead of using their sword. Commencing from any position, the practitioner uses his advanced training and experience with defending, dodging, and countering to seemingly avoid a strike at an incredibly fast speed, allowing them to slip up close to the opponent. The speed at which the user moves is staggering and, when coupled against an opponents strike, allows them to get up close, their sword unsheathed and ready to deliver their own blow.


Tsukeme (To Aim at a Weak Point)

Commencing from any position, the practitioner holds the blade within the sheath. Once the user has foreseen an incoming assault, they focus their chakra within their arms in order to utilize a great deal of physical strength. When the attack is within the range of their technique, the user will rapidly withdraw the weapon from the sheathe, cutting at the air in the direction of the incoming attack. The sheer force of the attack will send a cutting shockwave the thickness of the sword and attempt to slice apart the attack. Once cut in half, the attack will veer off course and leave the user, who was in the center location of the cut, unscathed. Useful against Ninjutsu, this allows the Iaijutsu practitioner to defend against attacks they usually would not be able to, as the cutting swath the technique extends allows it to slice through fireballs and other such constructs, though clever usage is recommended to avoid being overwhelmed.

Note: The cutting shockwave is 10 meters in length.


Hitosashi Tenrai (Dance of the Wind)

Undoubtedly, the ultimate defense maneuver of the Iaijutsu collection. Commencing from any position, the practitioner focuses all of mind and body simultaneously, allowing his chakra to surge through their body. Due to the elite reflexive training of the Kenjutsu style, the user becomes like a moving blur, becoming 'one with the wind' as they evade incoming attacks, either through dodging, blocking, or parrying. So long as the user is aware that the opponent is nearby, they can continue to block the attacks and strikes through their freakish reflexes and skill. The immense chakra drain forces the technique to only be capable of being active for a limited amount of time, so the user must use the technique wisely. Thought of as the antithesis of 'Kagirinai Hagane Hitosashi', the two techniques have been known to completely counteract each other, leaving behind an amazing spectacle of sparks and sword clashes.

Note: This allows the user to defend with agility and reflexes comparable to the x3 the speed of your average shinobi.

The Seal of the Bladed Warrior was the Samurai founder's secret to attaining a new level of power. Knowledge borrowed from their neighboring chakra experts, Whirlpool, the Samurai Clan developed a seal that would ensure the self-preservation of all Samurai, as well as their place in new history. By binding an advanced seal at the core of their chakra network directly after birth, the Samurai essentially created a steady, sustained flow of pure, raw chakra. Constantly feeding outwards and unable to be turned off, this sudden increase in their chakra output allows them to remain on par with their shinobi counterparts by producing a combination of raw, powerful attacks with their traditional Bushido, at the cost of being unable to create seals and mold chakra properly due to the pressure of the surging energy. The seal itself is a combination of ancient kanji and other shapes, and is usually placed on the chest.

Note: This seal is placed upon all samurai, essentially doubling their chakra capacity by opening their chakra pathways in a somewhat similar way to Hachimontokou. However, because of this, it prevents samurai from being able to finely mold chakra in terms of jutsu, making handseals and the like useless (i.e preventing them from using Ninjutsu, Fuuinjutsu, and Genjutsu). At the same time, this erratic chakra nature also prevents samurai from falling victim to genjutsu.


Chakura no Kishu (Chakra Form Manipulation)

The most innate and basic of all Samurai abilities, this technique acts as the base to all of the armored warriors chakra related abilities. Although samurai don't use handseals and jutsu, they nonetheless have learned to bypass seals as a medium for their chakra, using instead in its raw form and manipulating it to their bidding, usually in the form of an offensive weapon. As the Samurai grows more experienced with this technique, their creations become grander and grander.

Note: This is the basis for all Naideshou Gonyuu techniques. The samurai must learn this in order to possess any of the other sub-techniques. The chakra used to coat their weapon via this knowledge can serve as a buffer between the sword and outside techniques which would require contact to activate (a samurai could slap a small fireball away without detonating it via their sword).

Now that the samurai has gotten familiar with creating bladed chakra weaponry with and without the assistance of a base, they are able to propel their creations into a straight, linear form. Fast moving and dangerous, the chakra cutters rely their size, shape, strength and power entirely on how well the Samurai has honed and trained their chakra manipulations skills. Only one projectile may be fired per swing.

This variation to the Chakra Form Manipulation grants the samurai the ability of creating a chakra weapon out of thin air, whenever combat has rendered them without their normal armament. Taking the shape of weapon whatever the samurai desires, the user's pure chakra maintains the weapon as long as there is enough chakra to fuel it.

Note: The maximum size of the weapon(s) the samurai may create is 3 meters, which can extend to a length of 8 meters.

A basic training technique that supplements all of the Samurai's chakra creations, this will determine the sharpness and strength behind their chakra manipulation. By coating their weaponry in chakra, the user can increase the sharpness of their blade indefinitely.

Note: By offering a Low increment of chakra, this technique marginally increases the blade’s cutting strength, allowing easy passage through leather-based armor; by offering a Mid increment of chakra, this technique moderately increases the blade’s cutting strength, allowing it to easily dig into steel-based armor; by offering a 2x Mid increment of chakra, this technique greatly increases the blade’s cutting strength, allowing easy passage through steel armor and weaponry (up to six inches thick); by offering a High increment of chakra, this technique vastly increases the blade’s cutting strength, allowing easy passage through large obstructions (such as trees, boulders, concrete, etc up to two feet thick); by offering a 2x High increment of chakra, this technique increases the blade’s cutting strength to peerless levels. At this rank, the sword can effortlessly pass through elementary chakra-infused barriers (equivalent to the blade’s length) and any other man-made materials.

As its name implies, this variation to the Chakra Form Manipulation grants the samurai the ability of enhancing a plain, solid weapon with chakra extensions. Taking the shape of the current weapon in use, or another, the Samurai's pure chakra now coats their weapon, adding a unique versatility to their approach in combat.

Note: These extensions must be simple (an axe, hammer, etc.) and forged from either a solid, traditional weapon. The same restrictions for Weapon Creation applies to these extensions, in term of extending and size.


Bakushin (Weapon Explosion)

The final step behind mastering the art of Chakra Form Manipulation involves reversing the flow paths of the absorption at such rapid rates that a sudden release of energy over the imminent build-up comes forth. This means that any chakra creation the Samurai makes, whether it comes in projectile form or extended from the user's blade, will explode on contact away from the Samurai and completely on their chosen target.

Note: The intensity of the explosion, originating from the user’s blade, is equivalent to that of several (4) explosive notes. The size of the explosion is roughly three meters is a conical fashion wherever the blade of the user’s sword is pointed.

This technique can only be used with a physical weapon (non chakra created). Likewise, this ability takes a full post to charge, in which no other techniques can be used. However, after this ability has been charged, the user may continue to battle and detonate the blade whenever he\she feels like it.

Through rigorous training and acrobatic simulations, they have learned to determine their own center of gravity; while in the air they are capable of operating flawlessly regardless of what cardinal direction their body is angled to. This allows them to fight upside down as if they were standing right side up, et cetera.

Note: This technique is always active when the user is in the air.

Jinsokuashi (Quick Step)

One of the founding principles behind the House of Steps, this allows the user to temporarily increase their speed by dramatic degrees. Though the energy used to facilitate the technique dissipates soon after it has been built up (up to a maximum of five meters away from the starting point), the gain is still rather impressive. The most powerful features, however, is that this unnatural speed does not overpower the user should they come to a sudden halt.

Note: This technique doubles the user’s baseline speed (as in how fast they can run) for the duration of a single post. This speed can be “halted” at anytime, zeroing out the momentum from it instantly, allowing the user to come to sudden stops. No form of attacks may be initiated while this technique is "active."


Sokkahane (Feather Step)

A simple and basic ability, this technique allows the user to create a “cushion” of chakra beneath themselves, dramatically slowing their descent to a harmless speed. No matter how high up they are, or how fast they were falling, this will bring the user to a comfortable glide.

Note: This ability can only be used once per post. Furthermore, this ability only works if the user’s feet are directly beneath them while falling. The “Center of Gravity” passive does not remove this requirement.


Hajakenshou (Crushing Step)

A more advanced House of Steps technique, this revolves around the user stomping on the ground before them and sending a surge of chakra (invisible to the naked eye) erupting from the ground up. This technique can be used both offensively and defensively, either to launch an opponent wildly into the air or defend from throw weaponry.

Note: This technique can only be used by one foot at a time; it can only be used once per post, and cannot be executed at the same time any other techniques are being used. The burst of chakra created from this is capable of lifting a grown man roughly three meters into the air, knocking them back a maximum of three meters as well. This can also be used to defend against projectiles and or low-impact explosions and techniques. The “wall” is only generated in front of where the user is facing\stomps, stemming from only an inch before their foot, and grows to be a maximum of two meters high and two meters wide.


Tenkuuhane (Air Step)

A more advanced form of the Feather Step, this allows the user to focus even more chakra beneath their feet. Through this method, they are able to create a “platform” beneath the sole of each foot, giving them the ability to stand on the air, itself. Incredibly versatile, this allows the user to quite literally walk over many obstacles that others cannot. This also allows the user to stand upside down, "sticking" to the platform they've created.

Note: This ability can injure the user if they do not first slow their fall with the Feather Step. By creating this more durable platform, although made of chakra, the natural forces of falling do not simply vanish. This ability only works if the user’s feet are directly beneath them while in the air.


Sendokaitei (Thousand Step)

The final technique of the “air series,” this is considered to be one of the greatest steps of the Seihei Naideshou Gonyuu style. By combining the art of the quick step with the air step, the user is capable of quickly moving in any direction with short bursts of chakra from their feet. This technique is known as the Thousand Step because it is usually executed multiple times in rapid succession, to either evade a slew of assaults or unleash their own.

Note: This technique can be used four times per post. Unlike the previous two parent techniques. This can even be used upside down or sideways. The maximum distance a user may travel from any point to the next is five meters.


Hirogerusochi (Expanding Step)

Known as the “succession” technique, this ability is considered one of the fastest movements in the history of man. Initiated by compressing their chakra to a profound degree, the user then releases the energy in an invisible wave that expands up to ten meters from their body in all directions. This “dome” serves as a conduit for the user’s physical body (and whatever else they may be touching), which have been broken down into finer substances to facilitate the travel (yet still exist as a faded, ephemeral construct. See image here) from point-a to point-b. While in this state, the user can transition through solid materials, and the user can then “condense” the chakra and their body back together in an instant, which gives off the appearance of teleportation.

Note: This ability can only be used once per thread. Likewise, it requires a full post to charge, in which no other techniques or fighting maneuvers can be performed. The user cannot attack during the technique. This technique can only be learned by those who have dedicated themselves fully to the House of Steps and have mastered all of the techniques it offers.
