To introduce you to Customs, here you will find a short list of terms that may be utilized throughout this guide and the rest of the forum. It is imperative that you familiarize yourself with them before attempting to make anything on your own, so as to minimize simple errors.
FIRST AND FOREMOST: ANY custom that is left in The Forge for over 3 days with no changes will be archived.
[/b] of this technique identifies it. It can be as generic or as creative as you like, but make sure it is unique and at least somewhat describes what the technique is trying to achieve. On NRR, we format the name by including a Japanese version and then the English translation in parentheses.FIRST AND FOREMOST: ANY custom that is left in The Forge for over 3 days with no changes will be archived.
-A Rank helps to determine several measures based on the type of creation. For jutsu, it will give a broad measure of how difficult it is to perform it, and will help you decide how much chakra the jutsu should cost. A brief overview can be read here. For items, the rank will generally show how difficult it is to craft or how rare it is to find. Rank never fully determines something's strength, however.
-On NRR, we use Meters as our official measurement. 1 meter is equal to about 3.3 feet, so keep this in mind when you are creating your jutsu. Very few will be capable of spawning a creation that is 50 meters in any dimension - that's 164 feet!
-Offensive techniques exist to cause damage or alter something in favor of the user. As the bulk of techniques on this site, examples can be found virtually everywhere.
-Defensive jutsu exist to block, mitigate, deflect, or otherwise avoid damage caused by other techniques. From armors, to walls, to neutralization, defensive techniques can mean the difference between life and death on the battlefield.
-Supplementary jutsu are modifications that alter how a certain jutsu or set of jutsu are executed. This can either be by rank, strength, range, etc. Sometimes these require handseals or actual usage by the character, but they can also simply modify the jutsu in a passive manner. Depending on the effect of the supplementary jutsu, it may or may not cost chakra.
-Sometimes you may see a Note included at the end of a technique. This is where you will find or include limitations on the description of the technique above. For example, is it limited to only a single turn? Does it require the user to know another specific technique before it can be learned? Not every jutsu will require a note, but they are helpful for more complex abilities.
-A Template is what every member who creates a custom must use in order to have that custom checked over by staff. Different types of customs - techniques, weapons, etc. - have different templates. A list of templates can be found here.[/ul][/div][/font]
