The Akimichi is a unique group of shinobi, placing their Secret Techniques within the realm of body alteration. Members of the clan possess great physical strength and are able to quickly convert calories into chakra, which they then use in their various secret techniques. Most of these techniques rapidly consume the user's chakra during use, and maintaining them during a prolonged battle can be tiring. For this reason the Akimichi have high chakra levels and eat a lot in order to build up or replenish their chakra reserves.

As a tribute, members of the clan wear the kanji for "food" (食, shoku) on the their clothing. Furthermore, if standard calories aren't enough for a battle, Akimichi can use several of the clan's key items in order to convert excess fat into chakra, at the cost of one's health. Many Akimichi are known to use a bō as their choice of weapon, mainly because these staffs have the ability to lengthen in proportion to their wielder's size, and then to go with the clan's mantra of using one's internal strength, rather than relying on outside sources of power.

The Akimichi clan has a special relationship with the Nara and Yamanaka clan. To strengthen the unity between the three clans, a former famous Kage gave them special earrings in front of the eyes of many, after war and during peace keeping, to present to each generation clan head when they are promoted to 'Chūnin', after which they will swear their oaths. Most importantly, the earrings also symbolise that they are considered adults by their respective clans.

In the end Akimichi are fun loving yet loyal warriors - just don't call them fat.

[/b][/u]: When members of the Akimichi clan increase in size and weight, their speed won't be reduced due to intensive training in their super size form (this means they will still move at the same speed of your average shinobi, regardless of their current size).


-Tier Two - Like a Mountain: The members of the Akimichi clan are known for their ability to become super sized. Because of this, and the vigorous training that comes along with it, Akimichi clan members receive a drastic reduction to all damage received on super-imposed portions of their body.


-Tier Three - I'm not Fat: There are some things that people say that clearly cross the line. Saying any member of the Akimichi clan is fat is one of those things. Like an explosion, their true power is revealed, tripling the power behind a single attack. This ability can be used twice per thread, but only once every five posts. Akimichi will not stand for name calling!
